You also have to figure that the NHL is a league that depends, in large part, upon the popularity of its groupies to provide national exposure. You got to protect them.
I thought it was odd. I love the self righteous Tom Hicks jumping in to say he would've suspended him if the league didn't. I think he probably would have not been allowed to do that. Its probably one of those, no one cares b/c he's a prick issues, but it sets an interesting precedent that I don't like. For the record, I don't like Avery but I got a kick out of the comment. RIght out of SLap SHot- get in the other guy's head by noting you slept with his girl.
Suspension is ridiculous. Add "sloppy seconds" to the list of PC phrases that will get you axed. In light of this news, for your professional safety, I recommend that all KP members remove the phrases "teabag", "hot lunch", and "donkey punch" from your office vocabulary.
For the record, I would tap Elisha Cuthbert's ass too. I don't care if it's sloppy seconds, thirds, or whatever. As for the suspension, it's pretty lame. The NHL should try to cultivate an edgy, bad-boy image. That's the only way anybody's going to watch.Avery is a douchebag all the same.
Fair play on the "donkey punch" but you'll have to pry the "teabag" from my cold dead hands.Dear Christ, you can't even call a spade a spade anymore. And I am not really talking about shcwartze.Who here is for Sloppy Seconds, both picking up and laying down, so to speak?GammaGirl and assorted ne'er dowells, let's get back into the swing of things notwithstanding youngins.
Ich auch on Elisha. Al has some damn fine taste. Lord knows this wouldn't be the first sports-oriented "groupie" that I have been happy to wade in to. I used to play those sports, but then, hey, "Kathleen is always ok."
Final note provided by YGG's wife. I had to show her the clip on Sportscenter because it is classic and is one of the few times her pop culture world and my sports world can combine...she cracked up. She couldn't believe he was suspended. Her exact words, "Wait a minute. He plays hockey, right? And he was suspended for that? Isn't that the sport where they always fight forever and beat each other up?"Out of the mouths of babes.
