McCain Conceeds

Of course he's a war hero. And he just gave perhaps the classiest concession speech ever in which he truly put his "Country First." But what he deserves a ton of credit for is not bringing Rev. Jeremiah Wright into the campaign and making race an issue (yes, I know there were late-breaking ads, but I doubt he had much say in them and they were too little too late). Just 16 years ago, Los Angeles burned after the Rodney King incident--and now a black man is president-elect! McCain did the right thing by trying to defeat Obama in the merits of his positions rather than race-baiting. (I doubt Bush/Rove would have done the same thing.) It may have cost him the election. But it won him my eternal respect.
